Global Entrepreneurship Week is a worldwide celebration of enterprise, run by over 75 countries around the world involving over three million people. Formally known as Enterprise Week, 1200 schools and colleges took part in the UK last year.

Kick-starting Global Entrepreneurship Week, the Make your Mark Challenge is the UK’s largest one-day enterprise competition for 14-16 year olds. The competition develops skills such as creativity, team work and communication. The Year 11 Business Studies students were required ‘to come up with a new and innovative business idea that takes its inspiration from something local. The business could be a product or a service - as long as it’s a ‘cool’ creation and makes money’.

Our teams came up with ideas such as double sided jerseys, an environmentally friendly paint balling activity, CD to replace textbooks, a recycling business and a thermal gel radiator.
